Social Green Mobility (SGM) aims to design, develop and implement innovative mobility services.

BAIKKY is SGM’ flagship project and it is dedicated to the tourism industry: BAIKKY is a high-end electric bicycle which tourist operators can install in their accommodations for free. The service is granted through a decentralised structure: a net of local hubs provides direct services such as maintenance and customer service. A digital APP allows final users to: find the most suitable BAIKKY (based on their itinerary query), unlock it in real time, and connect them with the other members of the BAIKKY community.

Our organisational model, which corresponds to the one of an integrated company, allowed us to take care of every single detail of this project, from the design of the electric bike to the service delivery and distribution across the territory, but also analyzing the user experience and the APP development.

Social Green Mobility: ride to the future

Our mission

Social Green Mobility (SGM)  develops innovative products and services designed for the future of mobility.

It is an upcoming scenario, a future focused on environmental sustainability, embracing the shift towards the electric as a standard. A future in which everyone will think – and we move – in a new way.

How new?  By overcoming traditional business models in order to create value and distribute responsibility and profits back into stakeholders’ hands. SGM has been conceived with the aim to develop projects through the application of a decentralised model  the network enterprise based on the principles of cooperation.

The Network Enterprise

The Italian economic system is traditionally underpinned by SMEs: uncountable small and medium-sized enterprises preserving a deep bond with the territory, traditions and culture they belong to.

In a globalised system, such a model struggled to face the competition against big players, but it still managed to stand fast and show up its excellence.

In a network enterprisee each SME acts as a network node and between them, an exchanging process develops: this “traffic” of values, information and experiences creates value for the activity that links them together.

Social Green Mobility believes that this Business Model will set up a sustainability benchmark on three different levels::

  • ECONOMIC: flexibility makes the network enterprise less exposed to the threats single actors might face, while all members benefit from collective advantages, such as tech innovation;

  • SOCIALby creating new jobs on a local level, but also building the foundations of a digital community based on the nodes’ interactions;

  • ECOLOGICAL: compared to the management in a centralised business model, nodes in a network enterprise for sure have a deeper understanding and will pay way more attention to preserving and promoting the local territory.
